It is a floating command bar for Adobe Premiere Pro. You summon it with a global keyboard shortcut, search for a built-in effect or transition by name and apply it, or run one of the quick actions — adjustment layer, align, distribute, spacing and position, stack and offset. Then it dismisses itself and hands focus back to your timeline.

Premiere Pro's built-in video effects, audio effects, video transitions and audio transitions. Results are badged FX, AUD, TRN and A-TRN so you can see the category at a glance. Third-party plugin effects are not indexed, and HyperShift Pro does not search your project — sequences, bins, media and graphics are not part of the search.

Adobe Premiere Pro 26.x. The extension declares that range deliberately: it depends on behaviour that was measured and verified on Premiere 26, so it is not offered for versions it has not been tested against.

Not yet. HyperShift Pro is a Windows release today. The macOS build is feature-complete, but its native helper processes are not yet signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarised. Without that, macOS blocks the helper that listens for the global shortcut — the shortcut simply would not work. It is being held back until proper signing is in place. There is no release date to announce yet, and buying today does not include a Mac build.

It can be, depending on what you need. Both are Premiere Pro extensions built on the same idea — find what you want from the keyboard and apply it, instead of hunting through panels — so it is a fair comparison to make. They are scoped and priced differently. HyperShift Pro is $20 USD once, runs on Windows, targets Premiere Pro 26.x, searches Premiere's built-in video effects, audio effects, video transitions and audio transitions, and adds timeline tools: adjustment layers, align, distribute, spacing and position, and stack and offset. Excalibur is $120 plus applicable VAT for two machines per user, runs on Windows and macOS, supports Premiere Pro 2020 and newer, and works with effects, presets and transitions. If you are on Windows and Premiere 26 and want the search-and-apply workflow plus those layout tools at a lower price, HyperShift Pro is worth considering. If you need macOS, an older Premiere release, or presets, Excalibur covers ground HyperShift Pro does not.

You permanently own HyperShift Pro, and that includes bug fixes, maintenance updates, security fixes and compatibility fixes for new Premiere Pro releases at no extra cost. It does not automatically include major future feature releases, which may be sold separately. That distinction is stated up front rather than buried.

2 at a time. You can deactivate a machine to free the slot for a different one, which is also how you move to a new computer.

Not continuously. Your licence is validated online periodically rather than on every launch, and HyperShift Pro keeps working offline for up to 30 days before it needs to revalidate. A dropped connection or a server problem is not meant to stop you editing.

Deactivate the licence on the old machine to free the slot, then install HyperShift Pro on the new one and activate it with the same key. If the old machine is gone and you cannot deactivate it, get in touch and it can be released for you.

That is also how you re-download HyperShift-Pro-1.0.1-Windows.zxp on a new machine. This website never hosts the download and never asks for your licence key.

HyperShift Pro ships as a signed ZXP package. You install it with a ZXP installer, restart Premiere Pro, and it appears under Window ▸ Extensions. On Windows you also need the Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime, which is already present on Windows 11 and installed alongside Microsoft Edge on Windows 10. Yes. Reinstalling is supported, and because the extension keeps the same bundle identity across versions, installing a newer release updates the existing installation in place rather than leaving a duplicate.

A small helper process watches for your chosen combination and tells HyperShift Pro to appear, so the bar can be summoned from anywhere in Premiere rather than only from a focused panel. The default on Windows is Ctrl + Space. You can change it in Settings, either by choosing a preset or capturing your own combination, and HyperShift Pro warns you if your choice collides with a shortcut the system already owns.

Updates are manual for now — there is no auto-updater. You download the newer package and install it over the existing one, which updates it in place.

Yes, and it was one of the harder parts to get right. Align, distribute and layout changes are restored by HyperShift Pro itself, and only after it has verified that every clip still holds the value it expects — so it refuses rather than leaving you half-undone. A whole layout drag is one undo step, not one per frame. Stack operations are reversed through Premiere's own history. Note that Premiere caps its native history at 32 entries, so very old stack operations eventually become unreachable; HyperShift Pro tells you when that happens instead of doing something unexpected.
